Practice Experience
Mr. Freedman focuses his practice on business and complex commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on contractual disputes. He has represented public, mid-sized and private companies, as well as individual clients, in numerous litigations concerning such issues as breach and enforceability of restrictive covenants, unfair competition, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, professional malpractice and related employment issues. Mr. Freedman has extensive trial and appellate advocacy experience, as well as significant experience conducting administrative proceedings, mediations, and alternative dispute resolutions. Mr. Freedman has also represented clients from a variety of industries in disputes concerning intellectual property, entertainment, technology, e-commerce, licensing, defamation, publicity and privacy rights, bankruptcy, civil rights, real estate, insurance coverage, trusts and estates, white collar criminal defense, and routinely counsels clients on issues concerning First Amendment/media law. Prior to joining Oved & Oved LLP, Mr. Freedman was associated with the international law firm of Chadbourne & Parke LLP, where he handled complex commercial litigations and high-profile intellectual property matters.

Representative Matters
• Successfully represented emerging website corporation in federal litigation against former employee who hijacked the website’s domain name registration and other confidential property, seeking injunctive relief and damages under Consumer Anti-Cybersquatting Act; after a hearing in federal court, successfully obtained transfer of ownership of the domain name back to the website.
• Defended real estate developers in New Jersey Chancery Court against lawsuit for specific performance of an alleged prior contract for sale of the subject property to another developer; after several hearings, successfully obtained dismissal of all claims against the client.
• Represented fortune 500 insurance brokerage company in federal court against lawsuit brought by an insured claiming that the company failed to procure certain coverage allegedly requested; after one-week trial, the jury returned a defense verdict for the client.
• Successfully defended high-ranking executive employees in a New York State Supreme Court lawsuit brought by their former employer for breach of restrictive covenants, misappropriation of confidential information and similar claims.
• Represented construction developers as lead counsel in a preliminary injunction hearing in New York state court; successfully opposed attempt by a tenant’s organization to enjoin construction of building in the Soho district of New York City.
• Represented professional corporate employer in several New York State Supreme Court litigations against competitors and former employees concerning breach of non-solicitation agreements, unfair competition, trade secrets and breach of fiduciary duties; obtained favorable settlement.
• Represented a trade association in proceedings before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB); successfully opposed registration of a confusingly similar trademark.
• Represented golf course in breach of consultant contract; negotiated a favorable settlement agreement.
• Defended and prosecuted numerous appeals in state and federal court.
